Major labels & iTunes creating new album format
Interesting news . The four major labels have announced plans to unveil a new digital album format — tentatively titled CMX — that would include songs, lyrics, videos, liner notes, artwork and possibly other bonus content such as ringtones. This news comes on the heels that Apple is working on an in-house alternative to the format called Cocktail. A representative from one of the labels elaborated on the format: "Ours will be a file that you click on, it opens and it would have a brand new
PC | Wii Remote charger recalled
Psyclone and React controller recharge stations yanked from shelves due to overheating battery packs causing burns. Metaphorically, the Wii has been the hottest console in the game industry for years. Now, though, a third-party peripheral for the game is being recalled for generating dangerous amounts of actual heat. Rarely malfunctioning consumer product…or silent searer? Some 220,000 battery charger accessories for the Wii were recalled this
Logitech Knocks Out Rechargeable Speaker S315i And Portable Speaker S125i
Logitech has been on a tear lately with new product announcements and adding to the already heavy barrage of new product gun fire is the Rechargeable Speaker S315i and Portable Speaker S125i. First up is the flag ship of the two, the S315i. It packs in a rechargeable battery that is apparently good for 20 hours of music playback on a single charge and a dock that is compatible with iPods and iPhones. Beneath the metal grill are full-range drivers that should pump out some decent sound quali
DVD Jon receives subpoena
Jon Lech Johansen, known notoriously as DVD Jon for his work in cracking the CSS encryption on DVDs, had received a subpoena this week as part of the Apple iTunes anti-trust case. The subpoena was sent so everyone involved can gather any relevant documents that Johansen may still have, says Electronista . DVD Jon has been asked to "provide any communications with Apple regarding his efforts to make iPods inter-operable with content purchased outside of iTunes, along with discus
Yet another exploding iPhone
Knowing Apple, they’ll soon be promoting this as an “exclusive feature”: doubles as a self-defense device! But seriously, people, does your phone get so hot it burns you? Does your phone hiss at you before exploding? This is not the behavior of a well device. The iPhone’s owner said it “began making a hissing noise and the screen suddenly broke, sending pieces flying in the air.” Do you think Apple will try to hush this one up too? A little late for that, I think. It makes me wonder how

Filed under: Apple Corporate , Multimedia , Rumors Here's a post for everyone awaiting the mythical " iTablet ." The Sierra Sun is reporting that Apple recently shot a television ad for an unreleased product at the Truckee, California restaurant Jax on the Tracks . The Sun quotes Jax owner Bud Haley as saying that Apple wanted "...to show [the restaurant] as a hip and cool spot for the 20-something crowd." Additionally, there was a ban on all third-party photography during the shoot (of
Gr-apple-fest is on in the Mobile Industry!
By Douglas Karr Guest Blogger It appears that Apple is waging war in the mobile industry… and there’s some questions as to whether or not they’re playing fair. Apple first lashed out at the popular open source hack for the iPhone, called Jailbreak, stating that the Jailbreak application violated Apple’s copyright . Huh? iPhone owners might be stunned to find out that Apple thinks that, even though you bought your phone, they should maintain control over what you do to it. Then Apple
Is The Sansa Fuze Better Than Ipod?
by Davis Jetti The name Ipod has become the standard in MP3 players. Ipod is now the thing we associate portable music with. Sometimes, we want something different. Sandisk (the company that owns Sansa) delivers just that with the Sansa Fuze. I would say that it is the direct competitor to the Ipod Nano. It’s about the same size and it costs about the same at some places cheaper. So why Sansa’s Fuze if Apple’s Ipod is the standard? Well for one, competition is good for the market. Competition
